The Mini-Boat Regatta provides an opportunity for children ages 4-12 to race mini-sailboats along rain gutters by blowing on the sail of their boat.
With a huff and a puff they will race their boats to the finish line!
First, second and third-place trophies will be awarded in each age category and one trophy for Overall Fastest Time. A prize will be also be awarded for
"Best Decorated Boat!"
Goldfish (ages 4-6)
Dolphins (ages 7-9)
Whales (ages 10-12)
Mini-Boat Regatta Registration Fee
$5 per child
Registration Form (must pre-register by April 18. After that date, participants can register in the Children's Area on event day between 10 am and noon.)
(Note: Registration does not include general admission to the regatta event. General admission to the regatta is $8 at the gate. Or, come by the Living Science Center by April 22 and pay just $6).
Check-in Time: 10 am – 12 pm

Mini-Sailboat Kit Costs
Sailboat kits can be purchased at River Legacy Living Science Center's Acorns Gift Shop, 703 NW Green Oaks Blvd. Cost is $6.48. Kits must be assembled and decorated before event day.
Kits purchased from area Scout shops can also be used. No Catamaran Kits this year.
A limited number of assembled, waterproofed boats will be available the day of the race for a $5 refundable deposit (when you return the boat after the races).
