Become citizen scientists for a day as we count and celebrate birds during the global Great Backyard Bird Count hosted by Cornell Lab of Ornithology and The National Audubon Society. During this FREE festival, guests can participate in bird counts and a variety of games, crafts and activities all about celebrating birds and creating bird awareness.

    Get an up-close look and learn about different mammals found in Texas during an animal investigation followed by a related craft. Animal presentations will begin at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Cost is $2 per person/2 and under free. Tickets will be available to purchase at 10:30 am the day of the event. Tickets must be purchased in-person at the Science Center. Spring Break Activity is included with purchase of Discovery Room admission.

    Grab a dip net and see what interesting watery inhabitants you can find in the Science Center pond. Pond explorations will start at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Cost is $2 per person/2 and under free. Tickets will be available to purchase at 10:30 am the day of the event. Tickets must be purchased in-person at the Science Center. Spring Break Activity is included with purchase of Discovery Room admission. Attending children ages 3 and up will receive one dip net while supplies last.

    Join a Naturalist on a hike showcasing the spring plants in our forest. End the hike by getting your hands dirty planing seeds in our raised beds to help grow food for our animals. Hikes will leave from the Science Center at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, and 3:30 pm. Space is limited. Cost is $2 per person/2 & under free. Tickets will be available to purchase at 10:30 am the day of the event and must be purchased in-person at the Science Center. Spring Break Activity is included with purchase of Discovery Room admission.

Activities may include trail clean-ups, crafts and animal presentations, and talks.
