Conservation Saturdays are a fun and engaging way for families to learn and take part in various aspects of environmental conservation. Join us for our NEW Traveling Exhibit, “The Nature of Things,” featuring “Bee-lieve It or Not! The Secret Lives of Honey Bees.” Investigate the Nature of Things featuring The Tooth Sleuth, What’s Bugging Belva and A Salamander’s Tale. Get the beeswax on what makes a honey bee a honey bee; why pollinators are important and learn who is a pollinator through an interactive video game experience. Traveling Exhibit will be featured in River Legacy Living Science Center’s Discovery Room from Nov. 18, 2019 to Feb. 21, 2020. Admission to Discovery Room includes traveling exhibit. Exhibits are organized by the Purdue Agriculture Exhibit Design Center.

Great Backyard Bird Count Festival

Become citizen scientists for a day as we count and celebrate birds during the global Great Backyard Bird Count hosted by Cornell Lab of Ornithology and The National Audubon Society. During this FREE festival, guests can participate in bird counts and a variety of games, crafts and activities all about celebrating birds and creating bird awareness.

Creature Features

Join us for a meet and greet between 2 and 3 pm with one of our wildlife ambassadors and discover its habits and adaptations during this live animal observation with a River Legacy Naturalist. This month meet Sal, our barred tiger salamander. FREE. No RSVP required.

Explore the nature trails surrounding the Science Center on a family-friendly guided Nature Walk. FREE. Space is limited. RSVP to 817.860.6752. Nature Walks are usually held the fourth Saturdays of every month.
