    River Legacy Living Science Center will be closed Thursday, Oct. 5 & Friday, Oct. 6 to set up for the 21st annual After Dark in the Park Fall Festival. On Thursday, Oct. 5, guests may come in to purchase After Dark in the Park Family Fun Packs, but the Science Center exhibits, activities and trails will be closed.

Admission is $8 per person ages 3 & up. Pre-purchase Family Fun Packs for $45 (a $52 value) and get 4 admission tickets PLUS 20 $1 concession and activity coupons. Park in River Legacy Parks and catch a FREE hayride shuttle to event entrance. All proceeds benefit the environmental education programs of River Legacy Living Science Center.     Learn how to improve the quality of your soil and spend less time and money fertilizing and watering during the City of Arlington’s FREE Backyard Composting Class held the 2nd Saturday of every month at River Legacy Living Science Center’s composting station in the back of the parking lot. Participants will receive a free composting guide and learn proper pile building and composting basics! Please dress for the weather. For more information, call 817.459.6778

    Yoga classes are held most Saturday mornings at 10 am either in our classrooms with a forest view or outside depending on weather and space. Class is led by experienced instructor Becky Pena and lasts about an hour long. Please bring your own mat and water bottle. All levels from beginner to advanced are welcome. Adult yoga classes are best suited for ages 16 and up. Cost is $10 per class and registration is available online. Cancellations for a refund require written notice via e-mail to jorge@riverlegacy.org at least 24 hours in advance of class. Cancellations not within the 24-hour period will not receive a refund, but may be credited to another class date depending on availability.

    Monthly Artini Hours are a fun way for adults to socialize, enjoy some drinks and create a recycled or upcycled art project. Artini Hours include project instruction, supplies, a specialty drink, wine and light appetizers. This month’s featured craft is mason jar lid pumpkin centerpieces and the specialty drink is champagne with apple cider. Cost is $20 per person. Ages 21 and up only; driver’s license required. The presentation will also include a look at bat houses, and participants will venture outdoors to locate the best place to hang a bat house at River Legacy. Led by Kaitlin Kuzdak with the .
