Scout Programs

River Legacy Living Science Center offers a number of environmental education programs in support of the Boy Scout Program – Cub Scout, Boy Scout – and Girl Scout Program – Daisies, Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts. Naturalists assist youth in preparation for earning badges and moving from one level of scouting to the next with emphasis on nature.

Please note that our 2018 Scout Badge Day will be on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 10 am to 2 pm this year. More details to come.

    • Journey: Wonders of Water (W.O.W.) *
    • Badge: Bugs or Hiker **
    • Badge: Outdoor Adventurers **
    • Patch: Water Drop **
  • Juniors
    • Badge: Animal Habitats or Geocacher **
    • Patch: Water Drop **
  • Tiger Cubs
    • Badge: Tigers in the Wild **
  • Wolf Cubs
    • Badge: Paws on the Path **
  • Bear Cubs
    • Badge: Fur, Feathers & Ferns **
  • Webelos
    • Badge: Webelos Walkabout or Into the Wild **

* Journey programs are designed to give girls a taste of the Journey – girls will not complete the Journey at this program.

** Badge & Patch programs are designed to complete most or all of the steps required to earn the badge or patch.

Pricing & Scheduling:

  • A minimum deposit of $100 for up to 10 Scouts must be made at time of reservation. $10 per additional Scout/$5 per Sibling for up to 20 participants.
  • Scout programs are offered by appointment August through May. Programs are generally 1 1/2 hours in length and will begin promptly at the scheduled time.
  • Scout programs are held rain or shine. However, in the event of heavy rain or dangerous temperatures, an alternate indoor program may be substituted.
  • If your group must reschedule, a $15 rescheduling fee will be applied.
  • If your group must cancel, refunds are as follows:
    • More than 30 days notice: 100% refund
    • 11 to 30 days notice: 50% refund
    • Less than 11 days: 25% refund
    • Less than 48 hours: NO refund

Naturalists will help Scouts complete some or all of the necessary requirements to achieve listed badges or journeys. More information to come.
