Group Visits
Learn together.
School clubs, daycares, environmental groups, and all organizations of 10 or more people are welcome to explore River Legacy Nature Center through a Self-Guided Group Visit or a Multi-Age Group Program.
Self-Guided Groups can accommodate a total of 20 children and 2 adults at a time. Groups larger than 20 will need to book multiple time slots and rotate groups through the Nature Center and the trails.
Multi-Age Group Programs can accommodate a maximum of 40 people per session and 25 during special exhibits.
All group visits must be scheduled in advance to ensure availability of space in our building and on our activity calendar. Please click the links below to see more information and availability.

Self-Guided Group Visit
The self-guided group visit is great for large groups who are looking to explore the Nature Center and the trails at their own pace. The Nature Center is a great educational resource to enhance a lesson plan, or to simply bring a group to explore and learn about the wonders of nature.
Visit Includes:
- Discovery Room admission to play and learn from our large interactive walls, aquatic tanks, and educational exhibit pieces.
- Scheduled time to observe the native animals in the atrium.
- The opportunity to go outside to explore the trails, count turtles at the pond, identify birds at the bird blind, and use our interactive app for further learning outdoors.
Homeschool/Multi-Age Group Program
This program is designed for groups of children ages 3 to 11 with parents/guardians who want to introduce young scientists to the North Texas woodland habitat.
Program includes:
- 30-45 minute educational presentation by a Naturalist based on topic of your choice (reptiles, invertebrates, or mammals – when available)
- The opportunity to go outside to explore the trails, count turtles at the pond, identify birds at the bird blind, and use our interactive app for further learning outdoors
