Bird lovers of all ages are invited to flock to River Legacy Nature Center for the Great Backyard Bird Count, a global citizen science event hosted in partnership with the National Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
Join our naturalists for a day of discovery as we explore the incredible variety of birds that call River Legacy home.
Through guided family walks, hands-on activities, and observation stations, participants will learn how to spot, identify, and count local bird species—no experience required! Whether you’re brand new to birdwatching or a seasoned pro, this event is designed to be engaging, educational, and fun for the whole family.
Participants will help collect real scientific data by recording the birds they observe. These observations contribute to international research efforts that track bird populations, migration patterns, and conservation needs worldwide—so your sightings truly make a difference.
