FINAL DAY IS FEBRUARY 10TH!

Visit the Nature Center this fall to explore the forest like never before. Climb, crawl and slide on tree tops, become a conductor for a day and work a kid-sized replica of a Union Pacific engine, or work together to build a house as you learn about the many things wood is used for!

Forever Forest is an immersive exhibit that demonstrates how your everyday life connected to forests through the ways you live, work and play! Visit with your family to enjoy hands-on focused on forest life and sustainable harvesting.

This exhibit was produced by Omaha Children’s Museum and presented by Union Pacific and North American Wholesale Lumber Association.

Omaha Children’s Museum is a special place where children can challenge themselves, discover how the world works and learn through play. The mission of Omaha Children’s Museum is to engage the imagination and create excitement about learning.

TRAIN CHALLENGE

Play the role of a conductor, yard worker or warehouse manager as you figure out how to load and unload a train full of lumber and surprising tree products such as chocolate, gum, and ping pong balls.

TREE TOP CLIMBER

Explore a forest and its creatures by climbing, crawling and sliding through logs and tree limbs.

WOOD WORKS

Cooperate to finish building a house while learning how wood is used for trim, flooring, walls and more. Investigate toys, musical instruments, sports equipment, medicine, food and fabric made from tree components.

TREE TRANSPORT

Understand the steps of the forestry process by manipulating trains, trucks, boats, trees, and logs to move them from the forest to sawmill, to lumberyard, and eventually a home.
